These terms set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities between Newmadlog
(the "developer") and users regarding use of the mobile application Doomscroll Cat
(the "app").
Article 2 (Definitions)
"App" means the software the developer provides to help manage time spent on
short-form video (Shorts / Reels / TikTok).
"User" means anyone who installs and uses the app under these terms.
Article 3 (Effect and changes)
These terms take effect when posted in the app or announced in an equivalent
way.
The developer may change these terms within the limits of applicable law.
Changes will be announced in the app, stating the effective date and the reason,
at least 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes unfavorable to
users).
The app has no account sign-up and runs on your device's local storage, so no
individual notice by email or similar is provided; the in-app announcement in
paragraph 1 serves as notice.
Article 4 (Service)
The app provides:
Detection of YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok and short-form video on
the mobile web, with time-limit blocking
Usage statistics and a restraint streak
Missions (flip the phone, deep breaths, word puzzle) that must be completed
to dismiss the block screen
The developer may change or discontinue all or part of these features for
operational or technical reasons, with prior notice.
Blocking relies on the Android Accessibility Service and analysis of on-screen
UI structure. Updates to target apps such as YouTube, Instagram or TikTok may
temporarily stop detection from working. The developer will respond to such
changes as best it can but does not guarantee complete blocking.
Article 5 (User obligations)
To let the app work, you must grant the permissions it needs (the accessibility
service, "display over other apps") in Android system settings.
You may not use the app for purposes other than its intended one — managing your
own digital habits.
Article 6 (Disclaimer)
The developer is not liable for service interruption or blocking malfunction
caused by circumstances outside its control, including force majeure, problems
with your device or network, or updates to target apps (YouTube, Instagram,
TikTok, etc.).
The app is a supporting tool for improving your own digital habits; results are
not guaranteed.
Article 7 (Intellectual property)
Intellectual property rights in the app and in the illustrations, designs and
trademarks it contains belong to the developer. You may not copy, distribute or
commercially exploit them without the developer's prior written consent.
Article 8 (Paid content and refunds)
The app's core blocking and statistics features are free.
The app offers optional one-time purchases through Google Play In-app Billing:
decorative "skins" for the cat mascot, and vocabulary "word packs" for the word
puzzle mission. Skins are purely cosmetic and word packs only add words to the
puzzle; neither affects blocking, time limits or any other core feature.
Payment, cancellation and refund procedures follow Google Play's billing
policies and processes. You may also contact Google Play support for such
requests. Where applicable consumer law grants a right of withdrawal for unused
digital content, that right applies within the period the law provides.
If further paid features are introduced, payment and refund details will be
announced separately in accordance with applicable law.
Article 9 (Governing law)
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any dispute shall be
brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the laws of
your country of residence.
